Homeschool Tours
2026-2027 Season
LIGO in Livingston, Louisiana offers free tours to homeschooled children twice yearly—once in fall (mid-to-late September) and once in spring (TBD). Exact Fall date will be announced this coming Aug 18th.
Tours offer students a chance to interact with working scientists and engineers, and explore ~50 interactive exhibits in the Exhibit Hall.
What to Know about Homeschool Day
- Tour times: 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.
- Tours last about an hour
- All visits are FREE
- All groups can explore the Exhibit Hall until 2 p.m., regardless of tour time
- Bring your own lunch—no food available on-site
- Vehicles must stay on-site during the tour (LIGO is remote and vibration-sensitive)
- Adults must remain on-site with children at all times
- Maximum 40 people per tour (children and adults, including strollers)
- Single families should join our Science Saturdays or group with other homeschool families for a tour
